Blackfish runs tours and day trips from May to the end of September, the paddling season on the North Coast. This season we are looking forward to lots more overnight kayak trips into Metlakatla Passage, one of our favourite places near Prince Rupert. This two day tour of the Coast Tsimshian's abandoned village sites still continues to amaze even ourselves as we learn more every year about this First People's amazing history of 5,000 years of continuous occupation of the North Coast. Paul and Gina like to explore new spots each year throughout the North Coast. Blackfish has paddled the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary north of Prince Rupert, the humpback whale feeding grounds, and the Kitlope Valley. This year, our longer tours include chartering to a large, uninhabited offshore island group for 5 days and an archeological/wilderness trip through the Passage and then up the coast to the humpback whale grounds.
